The Court has received a recent report of creditors receiving a form through the mail from a non-governmental agency offering to file a proof of claim on behalf of the creditor in return for the payment of a fee.  Please be advised that creditors may electronically file a proof of claim for free using the “File A Proof of Claim” link on the Court’s website. No fees are associated with this transaction and a login or password for CM/ECF is not required when using the link provided above. Creditors may also file a proof of claim for free by mailing or delivering the proof of claim to the Court. If you have any questions regarding the procedures for filing a proof of claim, please contact the Court at (251) 441-5391.
