Important Updates Regarding Bankruptcy Noticing Center Disruption in Service

10/15/2026 update 2

The Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) continues to experience a nationwide service disruption. As a result, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Alabama is currently unable to send notices to parties.

During this disruption, attorneys are encouraged to provide direct, temporary notice to parties regarding any urgent matters to ensure timely communication.

Until this is resolved, CM/ECF users who need to serve pleadings can find information on obtaining creditor and party addresses in the below update from earlier today.

The court will continue to provide updates on this page.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the court at 251-441-5391.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE** Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) Service Disruption

As previously advised in the Court’s October 13, 2026 communication, the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) is still experiencing a nationwide service disruption. The Court continues to accept filings, open cases, and process documents as usual. Until the issue is resolved, however, entry and service of Court notices and orders may be delayed. This includes Section 341 Meeting Notices.

The disruption also affects CM/ECF users' access to the mailing matrix.  Until it is resolved, CM/ECF users who need to serve pleadings or delegated notices and orders can find creditor and party addresses for a case by following the steps below:

To obtain creditors and parties in a case:

  1. In CM/ECF, select Query from the menu.

  2. Enter the case number, then select Run Query.

  3. Select the Creditor link. Leave  “Creditor type” blank, then select Run Query to view creditors and addresses.

  4. Select the Party link to see parties and addresses.

  5. Compare creditor and party lists to ensure a complete list.

Please note: These lists may not include addresses registered with the BNC’s Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (EBN) program or the National Creditor Registration Service (NCRS). Parties and counsel should check service requirements to make sure every required party receives notice, including parties who don’t appear on these lists.

Late on Friday, October 9, 2026, BAE Systems, the contractor that services the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC), notified the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts of a service disruption impacting BAE systems that process notices as well as the following websites: bnc.uscourts.gov, bankruptcynotices.uscourts.gov, notices.uscourts.gov, and the National Creditor Registration Service website that supports CM/ECF access to address labels. Because of this disruption, the court polling and certification drop-off process that supports the delivery of electronic and paper notices has been interrupted and the BNC is unable to provide noticing services to the courts at this time.

BAE Systems is actively conducting an investigation into the disruption and working to restore services, but the interruption remains ongoing.

Judges Oldshue and Callaway have entered an Administrative Order today stating that the Court may extend or reset deadlines or continue hearings as necessary to address the interruption.

We ask that attorneys communicate to their clients as best able during this interruption. The Court will provide updates as soon as this is resolved.
